A welcoming, hometown beachfront community situated between Miami and Fort Lauderdale in Broward County, Hollywood is known as the Diamond of the Gold Coast.  

Founded in 1925, Hollywood is home to seven miles of award-winning pristine beaches, the renowned Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, more than 60 parks, seven golf courses, arts and entertainment options, and much more. With over 150,000 residents, it is the second-most populated city in Broward County, and the ninth largest city in Florida. This beautiful beachside city encompasses 27 square miles.  

Perfectly situated near or within Hollywood is Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Miami International Airport and Port Everglades ― the second busiest cruise port in the world. With more than 10,000 companies, Hollywood is a dynamic business hub which major employers such as Memorial Healthcare System, HEICO Corporation, Seminole Gaming and more have their headquarters. Major thoroughfares such as Interstate 95, the Florida Turnpike, Tri-County Commuter Rail and two major railroads make Hollywood easily accessible.     

As for education, the local region is served by a nationally-renowned post-secondary educational infrastructure, including Barry University, Nova Southeastern University, City College, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, the University of Miami, a variety of smaller private universities and colleges, and a community college system.

Hollywood is home to 32 public and charter elementary, middle, and high schools. All public schools within the City of Hollywood are operated by the School Board of Broward County. Hollywood also serves residents with 13 private schools, and a variety of career schools.

A Trip Advisor Traveler’s Choice Winner, Hollywood Beach features a unique oceanfront promenade ― the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk ― that travels alongside the Atlantic Ocean for nearly 2½ miles. Also named one of America’s Best Beach Boardwalks by Travel + Leisure magazine, the brick-paved Broadwalk boasts highly-renowned restaurants, small inns and hotels, and two parks. The Broadwalk is a favorite spot for joggers, bicyclists, roller-bladers and walkers.   

Hollywood Beach is among the first in Florida to be designated by the Clean Beaches Coalition as a Blue Wave beach, which honors the U.S.’s cleanest, safest and most user-friendly beaches.

Seven days a week, a trolley service transports riders to and from the best sites on the beach and downtown Hollywood.
